Lithophanes

Lithophanes are three-dimensional images that appear when backlit. How they work- The different thicknesses of the material create light and dark areas that show an image when lit from behind. How they're made- We take an image, using software it's converted into a 3d model that can then be printed with translucent plastic. Uses- Lithophanes can be displayed as nightlights, or placed near windows. They could also be placed in front of a light source on a stand.
